Getting Ready

So, tomorrow is my first race of 2010! I’m excited and little bit nervous. I made a really good dinner tonight! A roasted red pepper and green bean quesadilla. With sauteed green beans on the side!

A pretty good concoction if I do say so myself. It was yummy. For dessert I had a couple scoops of my mom’s home made strawberry rhubarb crumble. That was delicious. I also had a couple chocolate chip cookies. My bad, I guess I just couldn’t resist. 😦 I wrote up the recipe for the quesadilla and it can be found here.

I’ve also been getting all of my gear ready for tomorrow. I need to make sure I have everything packed in my gym bag to bring to work!

Checklist

  • Sneakers
  • Running shorts
  • Running tank
  • Socks
  • Sportsbra
  • Garmin
  • Spibelt
  • Hairclips and headband
  • Sunglasses
  • Bib (I left it on my desk at work)

So I should be all set for tomorrow. I’m also working on packing my lunch. I think I’m going to stick with Special K Protein cereal with soymilk and fruit, since I know it won’t bother my stomach. And a Luna bar to have around 5:00, since the race starts at 6:45 and I won’t be eating dinner beforehand. I also need to remember to drink lots of water tomorrow since its going to be pretty warm out.

Since I didn’t run or go to the gym tonight I did about 40 minutes of Namaste Yoga from Fit TV. It felt pretty good. I’m wondering if I should walk on my lunch break tomorrow or not. I probably will just to stretch my legs some more.

What did you use to the outside of your quesadilla? It looks good. Also, good luck on your race!
